We value businesses and shares for planned successions and for estate administration, at the date and on the basis the situation requires.

- 2Shares are being divided so that some heirs own the business and others receive other assets.
- 3An estate includes shares in a UAE company and their value must be established at the date of death.

What we value
The subject of the valuation
Shares and business interests forming part of a planned transfer or an estate.
Our method
How we reach the figure
For estates, the valuation date is usually the date of death, using information that was available then. For planned successions, value is assessed at the transfer date. In both cases we consider the business's dependence on the departing founder.
We do not advise on how an estate should be distributed; that is determined by the applicable law and the family's legal advisers.
| Income | Sustainable profit or projected cash flows | Usual starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Market | GCC and international deal and listed-company evidence | Cross-check |
| Asset | Restated balance sheet value | Where relevant |
Valued at the date of death or transfer, reflecting the business's dependence on the founder.
